Internet as parallel 'Utopian' Universe
Can the experience of freedom in cyberspace facilitate the exercise of freedoms in real-time physical space? User-defined rules for human interactions in cyberspace replace strict moral and authoritarian guidelines for interactions and this alter-space provides for new experiences of living and being which alter how people conduct themselves in physical space itself. We see how ultra-free websites thrive in restrictive societies representing uncharacteristic freedom of expression, we also see how alter-governance takes root where physical space leadership is wanting! Can the internet provide a space for balance, retrospection and experience of a possible utopia we can model for our 'real' world?
